A heartwarming moment unfolded as Mosha, a nine-year-old elephant with only three legs, joyfully walked again with the help of a specially designed artificial limb. Mosha lost her leg in 2006 when she stepped on a landmine in Thailand at just seven months old. Despite her initial leg stitching at the MaeYao National Reserve in Lampang, she had adapted to moving on three legs.
The animal reserve, boasting the world’s first elephant hospital, recently crafted a prosthetic limb tailored for Mosha. This innovation offered her the opportunity to walk on all fours once more after an eight-year hiatus.
In a touching video, the hospital staff can be seen expertly attaching the prosthetic limb to Mosha’s stump. As soon as she took her first steps, the elated elephant couldn’t contain her joy, smiling and jubilantly tossing sand over her back in celebration. In just a matter of minutes, Mosha was confidently walking on her new limb, marking a significant stride in her journey towards a more mobile and fulfilling life.
